If your customers have been calling you to ask when they can expect their order to arrive you might consider adding a tracking code to their orders.
When you next dispatch an order look out for a little 'Barcode' icon located just below your Shipping cost row see below:
Click the icon and enter the tracking code issued by the postal service or courier you use to ship your orders.
You can also include a URL that your customer can use to go to view their order status. Again, this will be given to you by the service you use for your shipments.
e.g.
Royal Mail have a service they call 'Track and Trace' : Track and Trace
USPS call it 'USPS tracking': USPS tracking
Other shipping services will have the equivalent.
Easy right?
It gets better!
Your customer will now receive both the tracking code and the URL they can refer to included directly in their dispatch confirmation email.
...and you'll always have a permanent record of the tracking reference saved with your orders just in case you need to refer back to it:
If you are just starting out in online selling, or, trading in high value goods such as jewellery, art or large fashion orders, this feature will help allay some your customer's concerns and raise the perception they have of your brand when ordering from your store.
